WRONG REASON FOR THE GOSPEL OF PROSPERITY:  religiosity instead of spirituality – 1 Timothy 2:5 KJV

1 Timothy 2:5 KJV

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”

There is a big difference between religiosity and spirituality.

Spirituality of Christianity is finding one’s own path of personal salvation to God through the righteousness of Jesus Christ – 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV “or he (God) hath made him (Jesus Christ) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (Christ Jesus).”And this is a personal quest for meaning in life. Spirituality of Christianity says “salvation is personal”.

Spirituality always encourages and develops a personal walk and intimate relationship with God where the Christians individually know God for themselves – Daniel 11:32 KJV “…the people that do know their God (not the General Overseer/pastor).…” – and General Overseer/pastor never be an intermediary (mediator) between the Christians and God but the Lord Jesus Christ: 1 Timothy 2:5 KJV “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus”

When people like prosperity gospel pastors and their followers turn Christianity to religion by religiosity; the religiosity does not create spirituality, but just the opposite.

Religion by religiosity never encourages and develops a personal walk and intimate relationship with God. It creates human intermediary (mediator) between the gullible and deceived church members and God. This  human intermediary (mediator) created is the General Overseer/Pastor.

The followers (gullible and deceived Christians in this sect) are programmed, conditioned and mind-controlled by manipulation inside their brain and mind to believe and see the General Overseer/pastor as the intermediary (mediator) between them (the easy to fool Christians) and God. This is where he (the General Overseer/pastor) replaces the position of Jesus Christ (the true mediator) in the lives of the congregants.

In religiosity, the church members (followers) can defend and die for their General Overseer/pastor rather than to defend and die for the Lord Jesus Christ, the word of God!

In Nigeria/African, the prosperity gospel pastors have caused people to be practicing religiosity instead of spirituality.

The true practice of Christianity biblically is spirituality – and NOT religiosity.

Majority of Christians in Nigeria don’t know the difference between religiosity and spirituality.

Most of the activities of the Nigerian churches are of religiosity  (not spirituality ) – Nigerian Christians go to church to religiously pray,  religiously fast,  speaking in tongues,  falling down under the anointing,  looking for miracles, signs and wonders without firstly growing and developing a personal walk and intimate relationship with the God of miracles, signs and wonders!

They prefer:

  • Firstly to grow a personal walk with the highly anointed men of God/pastors who work miracles, signs and wonders – this kind of walk is religious activity of the religiosity. And you will hear them say “my pastor says” instead of “the word of God says”.
  • Only interested in unbiblical and unchristian practice of hero worship to develop an intimate relationship with the highly anointed men of God/pastors who work miracles, signs and wonders – this kind of relationship is religious activity of the religiosity. And also you will still hear them always say “my pastor says” instead of “the word of God says”.

The religiosity is being interested in the acts of God – and never the ways of God as the case of Israelites and Moses – the children of Israel were interested only in the acts of God while Moses was highly interested in the ways of God:  Psalms 103:7 “He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.”

The Israelites from 20 years and above (apart from Moses, Caleb and Joshua).were of the religiosity while Moses, Caleb and Joshua were of spirituality:  Numbers  14:24 “But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.”

It was this religiosity that  destroyed them in the wilderness from 20 years and above because religion destroys – being religious is not healthy:  Numbers  14:29  – 30 “Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,  Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.”

Religiosity gives leanness:  Psalms 106:15 “And he (God) gave them (Israelites) their request; but sent leanness into their soul.” Miracles, signs and wonders by religiosity give leanness to the soul.

Whatever you get by religiosity always has negative consequence(s) :  1 Samuel  8:22 and Hosea  13:11 “And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city….. I (God) gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.”

Religiosity prefers the permissive will of God to the good will and the perfect will of God. This permissive will of God is the practice of bring your money for God to bless you or to receive God’s blessings.
