WHAT IS THE BEST THING TO ASK GOD AFTER SALVATION? (PART 2) – Philippians 3:10 KJV
Philippians 3:10 KJV
“That I may know him…”
The most important thing to do – the caution you need most is “DON’T BE A MIRACLE SEEKER BUT DEVELOP YOUR OWN FAITH THROUGH THE WORD” by the personal walk and intimate relationship with God.
And God will use your faith (not the faith of a prosperity gospel pastor) to live and relate with you and for your provision to be met by Him as the just or righteous shall live by faith.
The only currency spends in Heaven is faith by the personal walk and intimate relationship with God.
Growing and developing your personal walk and intimate relationship with God is the best way to avoid prosperity gospel and its trap.
Living by your own faith grown and developed from the word of God is so crucial that the Bible mentioned it four times in the Bible: Habakkuk 2:4, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11 and Hebrews 10:38 “…the just shall live by his faith.”
If you are a miracle seeker, you will always fall into the trap of the prosperity gospel – and it will destroy you one day.
The gift(s) of the Holy Spirit is/are used as an attack to attack Satan the devil while the fruit of the Holy Spirit is our defense against the Satan the devil to make Heaven. The gift of the Holy Spirit may destroy you the carrier (Matthew 7:16-23 and Luke 13:23-30) but the fruit of the Holy Spirit will never. It takes the fruit of the Holy Spirit to be like our Lord Jesus Christ.
The genesis of the destruction of the mature children of Israel in the wilderness was because they loved to seek miracles rather than have a personal walk and intimate relationship with God like Moses (they were more interested in the acts of God than the ways of God): Psalms 103:7 (KJV) “He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.”
Knowing the ways of God is having a personal walk and intimate relationship with God – it is a personal walk with God – it is making God your friend.
But the acts of God are the miracles, signs and wonders of God which the prosperity gospel preachers are highly interested in just to cajole, defraud, swindle and scam money from gullible and deceived church members who are more interested in the acts of God than the ways of God.
The biggest secret trap of prosperity gospel preachers is seeking first the acts of God rather than the ways of God!!!
Seeking miracles first before knowing the ways of God will destroy you, it is just a matter of time as the children of Israel were miracle seekers and this was what destroyed them in the wilderness (those who were from the age of twenty years and above): Numbers 14:29 (KJV) “Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward which have murmured against me (God).”
But Moses asked for the ways of God first and sought after His ways and he became a close friend of God which King David testified to in the books of Psalms: Exodus 33: 11, 13 (KJV) and Psalms 103;7 (KJV) “And the Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. Now therefore, I (Moses) pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people….. He (God) made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.
Even, the reason for Moses not entering the Promised Land (Canaan land) was the miracle water he worked for the children of Israel when they demanded water and God told him to speak to the rock, but he struck the rock instead of speaking to it. It was the working of miracle of water that made him (Moses) to fall into error – that made him to make a mistake of striking the rock instead of speaking to it.
If you don’t know the ways of God before you get the miracle, you cannot sustain the miracle and it will destroy you with time: Psalms 78:26-31 (KJV) and Psalms 106:15 (KJV) “He (God) caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind. He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea: And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations. So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire; They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths, The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel…….And he (God) gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
Prosperity gospel preachers see themselves as miracle workers and many follow them for their own destruction – the reason why some Christians including some pastors or ministers end up committing suicide, ship-wreck their fate, backslide, or abandon Christianity for Islam is that the miracles they had hoped for which the prosperity gospel pastors told them would happen, all failed, and they became frustrated, discouraged, demoralized, depressed and finally lost hope.
The prosperity gospel pastors will tell you that you cannot be serving God and be poor, sick, or passing through very difficult and challenging times. This is the biggest lie in Christianity!!!
The prosperity gospel preachers will never tell you this truth that will set and make you free: you don’t come to God and serve Him because of your expectation of miracle, sign and wonder but you come to God and serve Him because you want to have a personal walk with Him; personal relationship with Him; you want to be His close friend and you want to worship Him in truth and spirit by serving Him as God whether He gives you your desired miracle or not – whether He answers your prayer or not: you just want to serve God and people (humanity).
Don’t let the answered prayer be the basis for you serving God and people (huamity); if you do, you would be disappointed because you don’t serve God for the reason that you want miracle, sign and wonder from Him.
Don’t see God as toilet because people only use toilet when they are pressed; as long as they are not pressed they will never remember it (toilet) – this is the kind of picture and viewpoint that prosperity gospel preachers present to people – their perspective is that you come to God for miracles, signs and wonders.
God created us to worship Him whether He answered our prayers or not. It is our responsibility to worship God in spirit and in truth. God is God whether He answers our prayers or not. God created us for His pleasure – Revelation 4:11KJV “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
Let your firm decision be “Whether God gives me miracle, sign, wonder or not – answered my prayers or not, I have decided and made up my mind to serve Him and people to the end of my life in spirit and truth.” This was exactly what Job did when he was facing the toughest health challenge of his life: Job 13:15 (KJV) “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.”
You should have it at the back of your mind that no matter what happens, it is a no-going-back decision just like Ruth made when she steadfastly made up her mind to go with her mother-in-law in a complete hopeless situation: Ruth 1: 14-18 (KJV) “And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her. And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.”
Ruth wanted a relationship from her mother-in-law more than physical, material and financial blessings. If Christians can have this kind of mindset or mentality, surely they will never fall prey to the prosperity gospel ministers/pastors who are after their money.
But it is so unfortunate that many Christians in Nigeria and Africa are falling prey to them!
To avoid the trap of the prosperity gospel pastors, you should develop a tough mentality of having a stronger relationship with God by always praising God despite the fact that no breakthrough or positive turn-around experience yet – not yet happened in your life: Habakkuk 3:17-19 (KJV) “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.”
With this strong and determined mind, you can never fall into the trap of the prosperity gospel preachers – you can never get into a difficult situation by the deception of these charlatan preachers to lose your hard earned money, to lose your hope, to lose your faith and to give up on God.
When your prayers are not answered in time:
- Have this deep spiritual understanding that you are passing through the trial of faith!
- Maybe your prayer request or the prophetic declarations and positive confession declared to you are not according to the will of God or you asked amiss, which means you will never get answer to the prayer request: James 4:3 (KJV) “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.”
- You can experience a failed prophecy.
The failed prophecy must not stop you from serving God in spirit and in truth, and serving people because you are not to base your relationship with God on miracles, signs and wonders.
Don’t let your serving God be on the condition of answered prayers or miracles, signs and wonders. With this understanding, you will never fall into the trap of prosperity gospel preachers.
Be like the apostle Paul – Philippians 3:10 KJV “That I may know him…”
Always have it at the back of your mind that prophecies may fail but failed prophecies should not end your relationship with God. Despite the failed prophecy experience, you should continue to serve God and humanity to the end: 1 Corinthians 13:8 (KJV) “Charity (love) never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.”
Your unbreakable relationship with God is your love towards Him. With this, you will never, and cannot fall into the trap of prosperity gospel preachers. The mindset of whether God answers your prayer or not, “God is still God” in your life will surely make you not to fall into the trap of prosperity gospel preachers.
You should take a final Bus Stop decision like the type the 12 disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ took in John 6.
The decision was that Jesus Christ was their final Bus Stop – there was no going back; they had come to stay permanently with Jesus no matter what happened even when some disciples deserted Him and went back to the world: John 6:66-69 (KJV) “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.”
If this kind of determination is yours, you can never get into the trap of the prosperity gospel ministers.
Your personal walk and intimate relationship with God in Christ Jesus (KNOW GOD FOR YOURSELF) is the best measure to be taken to guard against the charlatan pastors or prosperity gospel preachers.
The charlatan pastors or prosperity gospel preachers are out there to cajole, defraud, scam and swindle you of your hard earned money by their skillful manipulation and misapplication of the scriptures – they twist the scriptures to brainwash you in order to scam you – Romans 16:18 KJV and 2 Peter 3:16 – 17 KJV “For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple… As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest (TWIST), as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.”
