Christian Leadership Practice

The General Overseers/founders of the prosperity gospel churches wrongly or erroneously use Pareto principle or the 80/20 rule with the Name of God or Jesus as the instrument of manipulation and brainwashing when they want to scam, cajole, swindle and defraud their church members of their hard earned money.

In a situation where all the ministers’ tithes, that is, hundred percent (100%) intact, go to the headquarters untouched thereby nothing from the ministers’ tithes is left for the local church, then it means that the law of the vital few, the Pareto principle of 80%/20% rule, has been put in place for the financial benefits of the founder or the General Overseer.

The Almighty God created the law of the vital few for the benefits of the local parish in fulfillment of the scriptures of Acts 2:42 – 45 KJV and Acts 4: 32 – 35 KJV whereby no single member of the local parish will be lacking!

The Christian giving of Acts 2:42 – 45 KJV and Acts 4: 32 – 35 KJV made available the provision for every Christian and took care of every need to the extent that there was no one lacking in the church!

Even under the Law of Moses when the law of tithing was fully active and in operation, with the system of tithing or payment of tithes, there is correct sharing and proper use of the tithes in the community of God’s people (the Jewish people) of the Old Testament!!

This Pareto principle or the 80/20 rule –   the law of the vital few  that is created by God to help the local church (parish) to take care of the members of the local assembly had been violated in the prosperity gospel church by the General Overseers/founders.  They had successfully manipulated this law of vital few to their own favor instead of the favor of the poor and the needy as set up by God for them (the poor and the needy) in the church.

And this is exactly what is happening in Nigerian prosperity gospel churches where the General Overseers and their senior pastors are using the tithes and offerings of their church members for their own flamboyant lifestyles and for the building of their own empires instead of using the tithes and offerings to take care of the poor and needy in the church to the point that there would be no one lacking in the church as it was in the early church in Acts 2: 44 – 45 and Acts 4:32 – 35.

Please read: Acts 2: 44 – 45 and Acts 4:32 -35 “And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need……. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.”

Even, in the majority of the Nigerian mega church pastors who specialize in prosperity gospel, they have failed woefully to make the manifestation of the prosperity gospel evident physically, materially and financially in the lives of the junior pastors because there is still lack among the local parish pastors!!!

These Nigeria’s rich mega churches pay pastors poor salaries. What I am saying is that many of these country’s prosperity-preaching, super-rich mega churches pay their pastors poor wages.

In 2017, a substantial majority of the pastors engaged by the prosperity churches, who are polytechnic and university graduates, earn between N25, 000 and N45, 000 a month which is less than hundred ($100) dollars in the black market in the year 2020.

But their senior pastors are known to be extremely wealthy, own private jets, maintain luxury homes in the country and abroad, and send their children to some of the best schools in the world.

The parish pastors of some of these biggest prosperity gospel churches in the country live in a different world from their senior pastors.

The financial health of the prosperity gospel churches is hidden, their financial reports are not made public – they are kept secret, neither are they made available to their members.

The principle of 80/20 rule (the law of vital few) is a situation where naturally in any system, it is only 20 that is always carried the weight of the 80 – it is only 20% resources that control 80% resources. It is only 20% that takes care of the 80%. It is only 20% that provides for the 80%. It is only 20% that takes the responsibility of the 80%.

This 20% by research is all what the ministers in the Prosperity gospel Churches represents, as well as all their tithes hundred percent (100%) that go to the headquarters!

This is the reason why the prosperity gospel pastors always rush to make the rich and wealthy in the church either consecrated or ordained ministers fast without considering the level of their spiritual maturity in the church as all their tithes go to the headquarters!

In prosperity gospel church, financial maturity supersedes spiritual maturity because the god of mammon has taken over the church.  Please think about it!!! And read this scripture– 1 Timothy 3:1, 6 KJV “This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work……Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.”

Why do prosperity gospel pastors rush to consecrate or ordain a novice fast as a minister in the church giving priority to his/her money over his/her spiritual maturity? It is because they need his or her money.

Why should all the ministers’ tithes hundred percent (100%) go to the headquarters? I hope you know the correct answer: hidden greed and unexplainable covetousness of the General Overseer/founder and their senior pastors.

For ordination, I believe according to the scriptural, money should be secondary and last to be considered when to ordain any person as minister in the church as it was done in the early church, the first church in the Bible. The requirements should be: (1) The person should be of honest report (2) The person should be full of the Holy Spirit and (3) The person should be full of wisdom of God – Acts 6:3 KJV “Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.”

The other requirements are mentioned by Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 3: 1 – 13 KJV “This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;  Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;  One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;  For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God? Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.  Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.  Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;  Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.  Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.  For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

In all the above requirements, there is no place money is giving priority over them. But because of the tithes (money) hundred percent (100%) intact of all the ministers going to the headquarters, financial capacity/influence has been given priority over both the spiritual maturity and impeccable character as the god of mammon is in charge of the prosperity gospel church.

All the spiritual and impeccable character standards have been compromised! You will find out that those ministers whose their money was considered over their spiritual  maturity level before they were ordained were not broken at all – their brokenness is zero.

Some of them are “title” crazy to the extent that if they call them brother or sister without calling them deacon or deacon, that is, adding titles to their names, they would feel offended.

Their brokenness was not considered before they were ordained but money influenced the spiritual decision of the church authority.  It is the money that qualified them for ordination because spiritual merchants are in charge of the ordination. As demons can never be redeemed, there are some things in our lives that need to be broken before ordination: pride, self-will, stubbornness, sinful habits, etc.

God is interested in the brokenness of the ordained ministers because genuine ordained ministers do pass through the phase of brokenness before He (God) will use him or her. When you come to the end of yourself (surrender all to God, most especially pride becomes zero), this is brokenness. Tithes (money) should be downplayed in the place of ordination.

But due to the manipulation and violation of the Pareto principle or the 80/20 rule –   the law of the vital few in the prosperity gospel churches, the 20% (twenty percent) that supposes to naturally take care of the local assembly/parish including the pastor has been made impossible.

This only 20 that always does carry the weight of the 80 – these only 20% resources that control 80% resources of the local parish have made ministers – and almost of or  all their tithes go to the headquarters. The only 20% that supposes to take care of the 80% of the local church members – the only 20% that supposes to provide for the need of 80% of the members of the local assembly including the parish pastor – the only 20% that supposes to take the responsibility of the 80% of the poor and the needy in the local assembly had been made ministers with all their tithes go to the headquarters.

This is a great scam in the church! And as results of this, there are many church members in the local parish/assembly who are lacking in contrary to the fulfillment of Acts 2:42 – 45 KJV and Acts 4: 32 – 35 KJV. The Pareto principle or the 80/20 rule –   the law of the vital few has been manipulated and violated.
