THE BIBLICAL REASON WHY ANY GENERAL OVERSEER/PASTOR IS FALLIBLE (part 2) – Moses, Aaron the high priest and Peter the chief apostle as a case study – Matthew 11:3

Do you know that Moses the great deliverer and prophet, Aaron the high priest and Peter the chief apostle fell into errors in their respective ministries?

If Moses, Aaron the high priest and Peter did fall into errors, then any General Overseer/pastor can fall into error.

Aaron, the high priest who supposed to know better packaged idol worship for God’s children in Exodus 32:1 – 10 “———- tomorrow is a feast to the LORD.” Aaron packaged the error of idol worship for the children of God in the Name of the LORD!

Always use this scripture to check any form of error from any General Overseer/Pastor: Isaiah 8:20 KJV“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them”

Please, it is compulsory for every true child of God to examine whatever any General Overseer/Pastor says in the light of the word of God because any General Overseer/Pastor is fallible and can make mistake(s).

There is one important lesson to learn from Aaron the high priest: If Aaron, the high priest, fell into an error! Therefore, any General Overseer/Pastor can make mistakes.

Any genuine man of God (General Overseer/Pastor) falls into errors when they want to please men instead of pleasing God.

Aaron the high priest and Peter the chief apostle fell into error as they were mindful of the things of men: they were men’s pleaser in one of the moments of their lives.

If Moses, the great deliverer and prophet could make a mistake; Aaron, the high priest could make a mistake; if Peter the chief apostle could make a mistake, then any General Overseer/Pastor is fallible and can make mistakes. This is because they are human.

Let us carefully study Aaron the high priest in detail by the spirit of error; how Satan used him to package idol worship for the children of God in the name of God .

Also, we shall look at the spirit error in action. Bible mentioned the spirit of error in 1 John 4:6KJV “We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” The spirit of error is of the Satan the devil. The spirit of error is never from God.

AARON

Aaron was the first High Priest in Israel after they had left Egypt. God chose him as the High Priest. At this point in time, by God’s standard, he was a believer in the Old Testament (equivalent to today of being born again, a saint).

God was using him but along the line, he (the high priest) entertained the weapon of reasoning by the spirit of error in the thought realm from Satan – he allowed Satan into the mind of his soul.

And he as the high priest, he supposed to know more about God and His ways than all other children of Israel, he was the one the devil used to make the golden calf for the children of Israel to worship in the wilderness when Moses and Joshua were not around.

Aaron was a believer in the Old Testament, God’s servant – the high priest (the pastor of the people) pure and holy but he allowed the spirit of error to use him for the reason that he entertained the devil through the channel of thought in his mind:.

Understand this : if this happened to Aaron, a genuine high Priest (the pastor of the children of Israel), even a believer as far as God  is concerned in the Old Testament, it could happen to any General Overseer/Pastor.

Exodus 32:1-8

“and when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. And Aaron said unto the, break off the golden earring, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf; and they said, these be thy gods, o Israel, which brought thee up out of the land Egypt, and when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it: and Aaron made proclamation and said, Tomorrow is a feast to the LORD. And they rose up early on the morrow and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: they have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt”.

After Satan had used the mind of Aaron because he allowed and entertained the thoughts he had fashioned into the thought realm of the mind of his soul, Aaron likewise shot the arrow of evil worship proclaimed in camouflage to God’s name into the minds of the souls of the children of Israel and said “Tomorrow is a feast to the LORD”. He used the golden calf, a molten calf as a representation for the worship of LORD God. This is a big error!

Satan used him to appease to the people’s minds that the golden calf was a means to worship the LORD God. He used and mentioned the name of the “LORD” to blind their minds that the feast was unto God not the golden calf – 2 Corinthian 4:4 “ whose minds the god of this age has blinded …”

MOSES

Prosperity gospel pastors are progressing and comfortable in wrong practices (errors ) because they are having results which are not approved by God just like the result Moses got when God told him to speak to the rock but instead, he struck it (the rock). This is an error (mistake) that Moses committed and made in the sight of God.

He got the result of water flowing out of the rock not by the way God instructed him – that is, God did not approve the way he got his result – it ia an error : Numbers 20:7 – 8 , 11 – 12 “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.”.

Our God is always interested in how we get any result as God did to Moses when God instructed him to speak to the rock but instead he struck the rock and water came out. It was a very good result, but God did not accept nor approve of how he did it. In the sight of God, this is an error!!!

As far as God is concerned, it is an error (mistake): Numbers 20:7-12: “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink. And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him. And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also. And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them“

PETER

Peter the chief apostle: The eleven (11) Apostles got the result of choosing Matthias to replace Judas Iscariot by using their lots instead of engaging the Holy Spirit . The cast of lot to choose an apostle to replace Judas Iscariot is an error.

Why? It is because they didn’t wait for the time of ministration of the Holy Spirit after the Day of Pentecost but their lots fell on Matthias.

They got the result but nobody knew and heard of any exploit carried out by the ministry of Apostle Matthias for the kingdom of God as the way they (eleven) Apostles headed by apostle Peter chose Matthias to replace Judas Iscariot which was not by the Holy Spirit: Acts 1:23 – 24, 26 “And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen……And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.”

Compare this with the way the Lord Jesus Christ chose Apostle Paul – and look at the great exploits of the ministry of Apostle Paul for the kingdom of God – especially as the Apostle for the Gentiles : Romans 11:13 and 1 Timothy 2:7 ” For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office…….Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.”

Another error committed by Peter the chief apostle was corrected by the young apostle Paul as at that time is found in Galatians 2: 11 – 14

God used young Apostle Paul to correct old and senior Apostle Peter (the chief Apostle) in Galatians 2: 11 – 14 “But when Peter was come to Antioch, I (Paul) withstood him (Peter) to the face, because he was to be blamed. For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; fearing them which were of the circumcision. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?”

Always remember that If Moses, the great deliverer and prophet could make a mistake; Aaron, the high priest could make a mistake; if Peter the chief apostle could make a mistake, then any General Overseer/Pastor is fallible and can make mistakes.

Even, if John the Baptist, the greatest prophet could make a mistake of doubting the Lord Jesus Christ while he was in the prison; he asks Jesus in Matthew 11:3, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?’ , then any General Overseer/Pastor is fallible and can make mistakes.
