THE BIBLICAL REASON WHY ANY GENERAL OVERSEER/PASTOR IS FALLIBLE – 1 Corinthians 14:29 KJV (Part 1)
The reason why the Lord Jesus Christ performed miracles, signs and wonders during His earthly ministry is just to prove His deity (divinity) as God.
The Lord Jesus Christ performed miracles while He was here on earth just to show and prove that He is God (God the Son) in Trinity (the Godhead): Colossians 2:9 “For in him (Jesus Christ) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
No pastor is divinity – a man of God is neither God nor Jesus Christ – no pastor is a deity or the Holy Spirit – pastors are human. And this is the reason why any pastor is fallible – no General Overseer/ pastor is perfect.
The day any General Overseer/ pastor says he is perfect, such a pastor has made himself equal to God – it means that such a pastor is God because it is only God who is perfect and who can never make any single mistake.
No General Overseer/pastor can build a hundred percent (100%) true church but only the Lord Jesus Christ: Matthew 16:18 “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” The Lord Jesus Christ said “my church” in this scripture (Matthew 16:18); He did not say General Overseer/pastor’s church because every true bible believing church belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ – not the General Overseer/pastor.
Miracle focused gospel opens door of deceit/deception, falling away/departing from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils to the people who are miracle seekers: 1 Timothy 4:1 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” – and this forms their wrong mentality that their General Overseer/pastor is infallible, perfect and always correct!
We need to downplay the miracle focused gospel in Nigeria and Africa all over because the Lord Jesus Christ said it is wicked, evil and adulterous generation that seeks after miracles (Matthew 12:39 and Matthew 16:4).
This miracle focused gospel is killing and destroying the Christian virtues and value system in Nigeria. It is killing and destroying Biblical principles that have to do with value system and building the economy of Nigeria. This is because the Biblical principles that form the value system by Christian virtues as well as that build the economy of any nation are being destroyed through the teachings, doctrines and practices of the prosperity gospel preachers as they (church members) see their General Overseer/pastor being perfect – and they (church members) believe that they can never fall into error.
Christians in Nigeria need to wake up and focus on self-rediscovery and recovery through kingdom Christianity, skills acquisition training and innovation so as to take over Nigerian economy. Remember that God created bamboo tree and other trees but He did not create chair and table for man. Man needs to use his brain and mind to find out and work by knowing and applying the principles, procedures, laws of nature and processes God already put in place to make chair and table from bamboo tree and other trees.
The supremacy of truth is above any highly respected and anointed “man of God” (General Overseer/Pastor) as any “man of God” is fallible. Any man of God can fall into error or make a mistake.
The plague of silence and conspiracy of silence makes the General Overseer/pastor believe that he is perfect.
The plague of silence and conspiracy of silence are evil – they are of darkness and they must be reproved – never you join in fellowship with them: Ephesians 5:10 -11 “Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove (expose) them.”
Do you know that the Bible culture says if any elder (pastor) has done wrong (guilty of sin) brought by two or three responsible witnesses, such an elder (pastor) should be rebuked in front of the whole church (before everyone) so that no one else will follow his example – so that the others may take warning: 1 Timothy 5: 19 -20 “Do not receive an accusation against an elder except from two or three witnesses. Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear.”
In Yoruba culture which has been used by Nigerian pastors to fashion out Christianity in Nigeria, it is not so but owing to subservience (Respect Your Elders – they are perfect and always right) because the Yoruba culture gives no room for the elders to be rebuked for wrong doing in the presence of the younger ones for the sake of the truth! And this is not Christianity at all as it contravenes the Bible culture of 1 Timothy 5: 19 -20.
Know this one truth that General Overseer/pastor is not perfect – they are fallible!!!
General Overseer/pastor can fall into error.
General Overseer/pastor can make a mistake.
Many Christians in Nigeria he misinterpreted the book of Matthew 7:1 -4 that the Lord Jesus Christ said we should not judge anyone.
The Lord Jesus Christ is not talking about doctrine here – He is not speaking that we should not judge doctrine but what He is talking about is that we should not judge our private individual lives because nobody is perfect as everyone has one dark area or one issue or the other in his or her life: Matthew 7:1 -4 “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?”
We should not judge our private individual issues but we can judge every doctrine in line with the word of God /in the light of the word of God: 1 Corinthians 14:29 “Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.”
You may ask: how do I know? It is through the revelation knowledge by the Holy Spirit – the Lord Jesus Christ mentioned “eye” in that Matthew 7:1 – 4 to connote (which refers to) the private life – and never doctrine.
Also read Matthew 6:23 and Mark 9:47 -48 for better understanding that the Lord Jesus Christ is addressing the private life of an individual – and never doctrine: “But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire— where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’
When you by the leading of the Holy Spirit scripturally correct in love any man of God who has fallen into the doctrinal error or wrong practices/wrong doings in Christianity, it is God using you to correct him as long as it is the word of God because nobody has seen God physically but we see God physically through His word (the Holy Bible).
The word of God is God Himself and it is the mind of God. God uses His word to correct us as any man of God is fallible: 2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
It is only God who cannot make any single mistake!!!
Do you know that if you correctly use all scripture to correct in love any man of God or any General Overseer who has fallen into doctrinal error or who is into any form of wrong practice, wrong doing, evil practice/doing in Christianity, nothing evil would happen to you? If any man of God or any General Overseer does not continue steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship (Acts 2:42), and you correctly use all scripture to correct him in love, nothing evil shall happen to you.
But Nigerian church members love putting their faith in men of God (men) instead of God – it is your responsibility to develop a personal walk and intimate relationship with God (just personal walk with God).
Nigerian Christians are more faithful, loyal to their General Overseer/ pastors than God!!!
Ignorance would continue to enslave the mentality of the average Nigerian Christians until knowledge from the word of God with understanding is acquired that any General Overseer/Pastor is fallible or can fall into error.
It is unfortunately many don’t study the word of God (the Bible) with the help of the Holy Spirit the best teacher, but only interested in listening to their General Overseer/Pastor. And they have been addicted to the words of their General Overseer/Pastor. They have been possessed by the words of their General Overseer/Pastor. And they have this false belief that their General Overseer/Pastor can never make a mistake and fall into error.
Some who try to open their Bible read their General Overseer/pastor’s words into it, instead of what is written in the Bible by the Holy Spirit Who both inspires the writing of the scriptures and interprets them to the Christian and the church – 2 Peter 1:20 – 21 KJV “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
Stop believing your General Overseer/pastors more than God.
Don’t ever equate any man of God to God Himself.
No man of God, no matter the level of his anointing is greater than the word of God.
Any man of God is fallible and can change but God and His word (Jesus Christ Himself) will never change because the word is ever settled in Heaven: Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8 and Psalms 119:89 “For I am the Lord, I change not…… Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever…… For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.”
If you believe the word of God more than your General Overseer/pastors, all the foxes of the pastors in the vineyard of our Heavenly Father (God) will be completely destroyed and wiped out in Nigerian/African churches. This is because every plant (fox) that our Heavenly Father (God) has not planted will be uprooted from the vineyard of God: Matthew 15:13 “But he (Jesus Christ) answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.”
You can only develop your faith by hearing the word of God directly from the Bible with the help of the Holy Spirit (not by hearing your General Overseer/pastors alone) – you cannot not develop your faith by hearing only your General Overseer/pastor without you crosscheck what he is telling you from the word of God whether he is right or wrong: Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
You have to be like the Berean Christians that you have to verify every word you hear from your General Overseer/pastors in the Bible: Acts 17:11 “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”
They (Berean Christians) obeyed the instruction that the Lord Jesus Christ gave every genuinely born again Christian to take responsibility to search (read and study thoroughly to get revelation knowledge and understanding of) the Scriptures by himself or herself: John 5:39 “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
What I am saying is that the Bible tells us of a remarkable group of people famously known today as the Berean Christians. These believers lived in a place called Berea (thus the name), and they possessed a remarkable character that each and every Christian today must have. This kind of remarkable character will liberate you from the indoctrination of your General Overseer/pastor’s doctrine. And by this, all the foxes of the pastors in the vineyard of our Heavenly Father (God) will be completely destroyed and wiped out in Nigerian/African churches.
To completely destroy and wipe out all the foxes of the pastors from the vineyard of God, you have this supreme knowledge and fortify yourself with this great understanding that the God of your pastor or General Overseer is also your God, and most importantly your Father, that is, if you are genuinely born again.
Your pastor or General Overseer is not the One who answers prayer but God (your Heavenly Father) – Psalms 65:2 “O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.”
Your pastor or General Overseer may pray and fast on your behalf, and still God may not answer the prayer because any man of God is fallible and maybe he has grieved the Holy Spirit or unknowingly sinned against God; but since you are not a bastard, if you go directly to Him, He (God, your Heavenly Father) will surely answer your prayer speedily.
Do you know that it is your faith that God uses to answer prayer? This is because in four (4) places in the Bible, the word of God says the just/righteous shall live by faith (not by your pastor or General Overseer).
Know your God more than your pastor or General Overseer because any man of God can make any form of mistake that gives birth to foxes that destroy the vineyard of our Heavenly Father (God), but God will never.
Always remember that any man of God is fallible but it is only the knowledge and wisdom of the word of God that is not fallible. Any man of God can fall into error because he is human – and this is the main reason why you should take the responsibility of studying the word diligently by yourself through the help of the Holy Spirit: 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Through the word of God, you should know your God more than the way you know your General Oveerseer/pastor if you must be strong and do exploits for God: Daniel 11:30 “…. the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”
Don’t ever look unto your pastor because the Bible did not say you should look unto them since they are human and they can disappoint you at any point in time, they are fallible and they can make mistake – they can fall into error. The Bible says the only person you should look unto is the Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, it is your responsibility to look unto Jesus Christ who is the author and finisher of our faith: Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.”
Most pastors or General Overseers of true Bible believing churches are genuine and started well with God but just like one mistake (error) made by Moses, they themselves have made one mistake or the other – they have fallen into errors as any man of God is fallible.
It means that any genuine pastor or man of God/General Overseer who has fallen into error (s) and refuses to repent and change, God will raise another genuine pastors or men of God /General Overseers who will be like Joshua to lead the present Nigerian Christians to the Promised Land from the present wilderness that Nigerian Christians are.
These Christians will be Joshua Generation who will enter the Promised Land from the wilderness – and these Joshua Generation kind of Christians will not be miracle seekers but they will be highly interested in having a personal walk and close relationship with God first: Joshua 24:15 “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
MY FRIEND ‘S ACCOUNT IN CANADA
My mum says keep praying for Nigeria. I tell her I have stopped, as Canada has a population of 33 million where less than 1% actively go to church. Nigeria has a population of almost 200million where over 60% are religious and had top 5 pastors as millionaires, if not billionaires, where there are more churches than schools or hospitals. I tell her if it’s about prayer, Nigeria should be the best country in the world… so it’s not about prayer, it’s the mindset and neither is it a government issue.
Any general overseer/pastor is fallible!!!
