THE 7 MYSTERIES IN THE BIBLE

There are seven (7) mysteries in the Bible. It is required of all the true children of God, the Christian believers to know and understand these seven (7) mysteries in the Bible so that they will not follow the false doctrine (s) and be deceived.

Many pastors and Christians lack the knowledge and understanding of these seven (7) mysteries! Some pastors and Christians know but lack the understanding of these mysteries. One thing is to know and another thing is to understand.

When you know first, then secondly in a sequential order, you are expected to get the understanding of the knowledge acquired and thirdly (lastly) , you are expected to apply your understanding to gain the wisdom of the word of God so that you will not become a gullible and easily deceived Christian in this end time Revelation 13:18  “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding….”

Once again for the emphasis sake, if you understand the knowledge of the mysteries of God in the Bible, you will be a sound and good Christian who rightly divides the word of truth – 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Out of the seven (7) mysteries revealed, six (6) of them were revealed to the apostle Paul and one (1) to the apostle John the beloved.

Let us read Ephesians 3:1-10 KJV

“For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to youward:

How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,

Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:

Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,”

In verses 3 and 4, God made known mystery to the apostle Paul . He said in verse 4 that we should read and understand the knowledge in the mystery of Christ revealed.

In verse 9, Apostle Paul said everyone should see what the fellowship of the mystery which is from the beginning of the world had been hidden in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.

The apostle Paul is the minister and apostle of the Gentiles – Romans 11:13  KJV “For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:”

So let us study the mysteries of God revealed in the Bible, most especially to the apostle Paul – Romans 16:25 KJV  “Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began.”

All the ministers of Christ are expected to be the stewards of the mysteries of God – 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 KJV “Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”

This scripture says the man of God should do three (3) things:
(1) he must be the minister of Christ
(2) he must be the steward of the mysteries of God
(3)  he must be faithful in preaching and teaching the mysteries of God.

If someone understands the knowledge of the mysteries of God, it would be absolutely impossible to follow the false doctrine or to be delivered because the Bible says at the end of the church age, there shall be apostasy, the falling away from the sound, undiluted, true doctrine of the word of God.

WHAT IS THE MYSTERY OF GOD?

The mystery of God is what, how and why God does things that might be impossible to explain them clearly.

For instance, the ministry of the Trinity with Godhead – God is one with 3 parts – (1) God the Father (2) God the Son (Jesus Christ) and (3) God the Holy Spirit.

It is a mystery that it is impossible to explain it cleanly that God can separate Himself into 3 parts. This mystery makes it possible for Godhead by Jesus Christ to separate Himself, whereby Jesus Christ came down from heaven to the earth to die for the sin of the world. The Holy Trinity is a mystery.

THE SEVEN MYSTERIES OF GOD

(1) The mystery of godliness:

1 Timothy 3:16 KJV “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

This mystery of godliness has to do with the deity of Jesus Christ as God.

1 Timothy 3:16 says without controversy, God was manifest in the flesh. This God who was manifest in the flesh is our Lord Jesus Christ – John 1:1, 14 KJV “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

1 Timothy 3:16 speaks of the mystery of Jesus Christ as God who came down from Heaven in human form to die for the sin of the world. It is a mystery!

It is a mystery for God Himself to come down to this earth – not only He came to this world but He limited Himself to human being and died for our sin!!

It is a mystery that God separated Himself into 3 parts – and one of the three parts is Jesus Christ who came down from heaven to the earth and died for the sin of the world – John 3:16 KJV “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This mystery is great and it is without controversy at all according to 1 Timothy 3:16.

(2) The mystery of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit:

Colossians 1:26-27  KJV “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

It is a mystery for the Holy Spirit to dwell inside the body of human being who is genuinely born again. No saint in the Old Testament had the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of them.

But in the New Testament, after the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, once someone is genuinely born again, that particular moment the Holy Spirit dwells inside the body of such a born again Christian and at the same time the born again Christian seals with the Holy Spirit – it is a mystery to be sealed with the Holy Spirit just like that the moment you are saved –  Ephesians 1:13 KJV  “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.” No one was sealed with the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament. It is a mystery that every Christian believer is sealed with the Holy Spirit in the New Testament.

Christ Jesus is in you and you in Christ Jesus – and the Holy Spirit lives inside your body to become the temple of God – 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 KJV” Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

It is a mystery that a Christian believer is a carrier of God – John 14:23 KJV “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”

(3) The mystery of the bride of Christ, the church.

Ephesians 5:32 KJV “This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”

This is the dispensation of the church age.

It is a mystery that the church is the bride of Jesus Christ. The church is the body of Christ. Just exactly like in a Christian marriage, the Lord Jesus Christ is the husband and the church is His wife.

As Christian husband and Christian wife are one in a Christian marriage, so is Jesus Christ and His church (the Christian believers worldwide) are one. This is a great mystery. The Christian believers are the body of Christ.

(4) The mystery of rapture

1 Corinthians 15:51-52  KJV “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

The dead in Christ rising at the rapture is a mystery. The first phase of the second coming of Jesus Christ is to take home (heaven) the saints before the great tribulation – and this is a mystery. And this marks the end of the church age on earth when the Holy Spirit returns back to Heaven. The Holy Spirit is the third person of God. The Lord Jesus Christ takes out the church from the earth to Heaven at the at the rapture is a mystery.

(5) The mystery of the restoration of Israel:

Romans 11:25-26  KJV “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob…”

This mystery has to do with what takes place after the rapture.

When the Lord Jesus Christ came here to this world in form of human being during His earthly ministry, He came as a Jew to the nation of Israel – Matthew 10:5-6 KJV and John 4:22 KJV “These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel….for salvation is of the Jews.”

But the Jews rejected Him. And God will still come back to the Jews (the nation of Israel) during the tribulation after the rapture. The purpose is for their restoration – the restoration of Israel. This is a mystery!

(6) The mystery of religious whore:

This is the mystery revealed to the apostle John the beloved (not the apostle Paul).

Let us read:
Revelation 17:5 KJV “And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”

This woman joins to the state (the government of the day). This religious whore has been around and will be extended to the tribulation period.

This religious whore is a false church that started when the true church started as for every genuine, there is always a counterfeit.

The anti-Christ will use this false church. It is a mystery.

She is both the religious whore and political whore joining to the state. She has so many churches – Revelation 17:7, 9 KJV  “And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.”

(7) The mystery of iniquity:

2 Thessalonians 2:7  KJV “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.”

This mystery of iniquity has to do with the anti-Christ.

This mystery has to do with the time of tribulation after the rapture of the church.

The word “iniquity” in the Bible is synonymous to the word “wicked”.

After the rapture, Satan the devil will rule seven (7) years.

His headquarters will be in Jerusalem and he (the anti-Christ) will claim that he is God to be worshipped.

But the Lord Jesus Christ will come back from heaven to kick him out and throw him into the lake of fire.
