NUMBER ONE CHALLENGE OF EVERY CHRISTIAN

NUMBER ONE CHALLENGE OF EVERY CHRISTIAN

In the Garden of Eden, man broke a relationship with God through the sin of disobedience.

Before it was broken, the relationship between man and God was robust and intimate that every evening God came around to have a fellowship with man in the Garden of Eden – Genesis 3:8 KJV “And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.”

But God is a loving Father and He initiated the plan of reconciling man back to Himself in order to fix the broken relationship between Him (God) and man by Jesus Christ – 2 Corinthians 5:18 KJV  ‘And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.” God restored the relationship between Him and man by Jesus Christ.

How to have a personal walk and intimate relationship with God is number one challenge of every Christian. It is a challenge because God is still looking for persons on individual level that will worship Him in Spirit and in truth – John 4:23-24  KJV “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

How to grow, develop and build a personal walk and intimate relationship with God is the number one challenge of every Christian. By mistake/error, many Christians grow, develop and build a personal walk and intimate relationship with their General Overseers/pastors instead of God because the scripture says those who know their God (not those who know their pastors or General Overseers) – Daniel 11:32 KJV “…but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Read again, the scripture did not say that but the people that do know their pastors or General Overseers shall be strong, and do exploits!

As a true Christian, you need to know God by yourself. “It is not my General Overseer/pastor says” but “the word of God says”. You have to know and understand the word of God more than the way you know and understand your General Overseer/pastor. You have to defend the word of God with passion more than your General Overseer/pastor.

A personal relationship with God is just like a relationship with anyone else you dearly love in your life.

Certain requirements/materials are needed to grow, develop and build a personal walk and intimate relationship with God after your salvation experience – after  you are saved (genuinely born again). They are:

(1) Love God genuinely including your neighbour

Luke 10:27  “And he (Jesus Christ) answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.”

How do you love God genuinely? It is by running away from sin: Psalms 119:9, 11 KJV “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word….Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” You must abstain from every form of appearance of evil – 1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV “Abstain from all appearance of evil.”

By loving God genuinely is also by loving your neighbour. And  remember that your neighbour may not necessarily be a Christian but your enemy or enemies. How do you love your enemy or enemies who happen to be your neighbor(s)? The answer is provided in Proverbs 25:21-22 KJV and Romans 12:19-21 KJV ” If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee…..Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” Tell them about the love God by Jesus Christ.

(2) Faith and trust

To grow, develop and build a personal walk and intimate relationship with God, faith is absolutely required. You need faith to please God. This is because without faith, it is impossible to please Him (God) – Hebrews 11:6 KJV “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

You need faith to interact with God by His Word (the Holy Bible) because faith comes by hearing and hearing of the word of God – Romans 10:17  KJV “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”  The only way any genuinely born again Christian (the just or righteous) shall live, is by faith – Romans 1:17 KJV “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” This faith comes from trusting the word of God (the Bible).

To grow, develop and build a personal walk and intimate relationship with God, trust is most needed. You must trust God by His word (the Bible). Trust is the higher level of faith in the word of God that can never fail – Psalms 119:89 KJV and Mark 13:31  KJV ” Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven….Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.”

(3) Fellowship/communion

To grow, develop and build a personal walk and intimate relationship with God, fellowship/communion is very essential between you and God as God always keeps on looking for those who will worship Him in Spirit and in truth – John 4:23-24 KJV “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

Fellowship between you and God is the covenant relationship you have with Him in Spirit and in truth through Christ Jesus. Fellowship/communion with Godhead (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit) is what every genuinely born again Christian cannot do without daily. It grows, develops and builds a strong personal walk and intimate relationship with God.

The requirements for building, establishing and sustaining a personal walk and intimate relationship with God are fellowship, communion, love, faith and trust that every true Christian must possess. It means to know Him and to be known by Him, the qualities of these requirements are essential. It is much more than just going to church or even reading our Bibles. As a true Christian, to be more religious than being faithful never grows, develops, builds and sustain a strong, robust personal walk and intimate relationship with God.

Number one challenge of every Christian is how to possess and fulfill the qualities of the requirements of growing, developing, building and sustaining a personal walk and intimate relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
