Luke 21:14 KJV “And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.”

The above scripture (Luke 21:1-4) is one of the popular money making twisted scriptures by the prosperity gospel preachers.  The money making pastors will tell you that the poor widow gave all the living that she had in Luke 21:1-4 KJV – in her penury, she gave everything (two mites) – all the money she had! These money focused gospel pastors are charlatans. They fondly use this scripture as one of their favorites to cajole, scam, defraud and swindle the poor church members, the gullible and deceived Christians of their hard earned money.

They twisted the scripture! This scripture is not for acquisition of materialism and possession of riches (money) and wealth as prosperity gospel pastors/preachers twisted and manipulated it for money. It is never for material and money possession.

In this Scripture  (Luke 21 : 1 – 4 ), the Lord Jesus Christ was using the event  that took place here to explain to us that we should give our lives totally to God, we should give everything concerning our lives to God. Lord Jesus Christ is saying we should surrender all to God. He (the Lord Jesus Christ) is saying you should not reserve any part of your life to yourself, that is, there should not be any “NO GO AREA” for God in your life – you must give all to God – you must deny yourself for the sake of following the Lord Jesus Christ; you must lose your life to God: Luke  9:23 – 24 KJV “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.”

The good example is Apostle Paul: Philippians 3:7 – 8 KJV “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.”

Another example is Moses: Hebrews 11:24 – 27 KJV “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.  By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.”

The apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ forsook all to follow Him: Matthew 19:27 KJV “Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?”

But the money making pastors (the prosperity gospel pastors/pastorpreneurs ) or the money focused pastors have turned Luke 21:1 -4 to the money making Scripture. They have manipulated and misapplied this Scripture to mean that you must give your widow’s mints, that is, you must give your last (money) to God.

This is a scam (fraud) because even in the Old Testament God did not tell the Israelites to give all their individual money to Him. He (God) did not tell them to bring their individual last (money) to Him but only tithe (tenth percent of the Agricultural produce) and offerings.

Our God is not a wicked God who would ask you to bring all your money (your last) to Him. It is Satan who will ask you to bring your entire last (money) to him because he is a thief to steal, kill and destroy your finances – and makes you poor and leaves you in poverty while he the devil through his agents will be eating fat, flying in private jet,  living in opulence, oppressing the poor.

This is the situation in Nigeria where the General Overseers and their senior pastors are scamming the church members of their hard earned money, swindling and defrauding the poor church members thereby leaving them in abject poverty while they are enjoying the luxuries of this world.

Now let us revisit 6:38 and combine it Luke 21:1- 4 KJV

Luke 6:38 KJV “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

As mentioned in part 1of my publication series of “How prosperity gospel pastors twist Bible to make money from people”, Luke 6:38 is popular and favorite scripture of the prosperity gospel pastors. They use it for brainwashing the church members with ease for fraudulent practice to cajole, scam, swindle and defraud them (the church members) of their hard earned money.  How?

They will tell their church members to give all in order to provoke God for financial blessings or miracle money.  They will tell them that God will give them financial breakthroughs in return when they give all or sow money seed (seed faith) to receive financial blessings from God, that God will use men in return to bless them with riches and wealth.

This is a big scam in the church because it is the prosperity gospel pastors who will become rich and wealthy while the church members will end up being poor.  How?

For instance, if in one hour church service, there are one thousand (1000) church members who are poor in attendance. And these poor church members come for the church service with Nigerian currency of one thousand naira (NGN 1000) each, and the pastor uses Luke 6:38 combined with Luke 21:1- 4   to tell them that they should give all to receive financial blessings or miracle money within a specified period of time with prophetic declaration and positive confession coming from the pastor.

And all the one thousand poor church members in attendance give all their last which is one thousand naira (NGN 1000) individually, that is, one thousand naira each. This means that by coming to the church with one thousand naira each, and they are returning back home empty handed with nothing financially (ZERO money) after the one hour church service, money wise,  they become poorer while the prosperity gospel pastor becomes richer and wealthier because within one hour church service, one thousand church members multiply by one thousand naira will give one million naira!

The pastor is one million naira richer and wealthier in one hour service!! This is incredible if there are three (3) services in a week, the prosperity gospel pastor will be three (3) million naira richer every week in three (3) hours! Since four (4) weeks make a month, therefore four multiply by three will be equal to twelve (12) million naira in a month!!! The prosperity gospel pastor is twelve million naira richer in just one month!!!

As a result of this, he (the prosperity gospel pastor) will automatically have a financial capacity to live large in luxury, affluence, opulence while the majority of the church members will be living in abject poverty.

With this kind of exponential increase of money every month, he can easily afford to buy private jets!

This is how they (the prosperity gospel pastors/ preachers – pastorpreneurs) turn Nigerian church to money making business centre. They make the house of God the house of merchandise. They are commercial/charlatan pastors. This is reason why the prosperity gospel is the most lucrative in Nigeria/Africa.

These prosperity gospel pastors will brainwash their church members that the Almighty God who is our Heavenly Father is the owner of the universe (which is a true statement used to scam), so they (their followers) themselves can possess the whole earth by sowing money seed (seed faith) into their lives (the pastor’s life) to provoke God’s blessings.

For instance, what is the Bible justification for a prosperity gospel pastor to ask individual poor church members in a single church service to sow a seed of N1 million (Nigerian currency) in order to have stupendous wealth?  The prosperity gospel pastor can buy anything buyable with money at any cost while the church members who have been brainwashed, deceived and manipulated will continue to live in abject poverty!

The prosperity gospel pastors are getting richer and wealthier while the church members are getting poorer and poorer! They have successfully and perfectly brainwashed their devotees / followers that those private jets are purely for evangelism while during His days on earth, the Lord Jesus Christ,  even apostle Paul did not acquire the expensive means of transportation  in equivalent to private jets to spread gospel (evangelism) during their earthly ministries.

If you tell them it is very wrong to acquire private jets and live large in luxury, affluence, opulence at the expense of the poor church members who are in need and are suffering, the prosperity gospel pastors will quote another popular and favourite twisted Scripture  to support their action of making money from the poor church members or for their accumulation of wealth at the expense of the poor congregants.

Their favourite and lovable twisted scripture they always use to support their scamming action is 2 Corinthians 8:9 KJV “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”

They twist and use this Scripture to brainwash, manipulate and scam their church members that the Lord Jesus Christ became poor so that they (the prosperity gospel pastors) can become rich! This is one of the tricks and ways the prosperity gospel pastors have made Nigeria to become the world capital of the extreme poverty.

They use 2 Corinthians 8:9 to defend their money making action in the church. And naïve, deceived and gullible church members fall cheaply to their defence of materialism and money acquisitions. Church members, please wake up and shine your eyes!

Does this scripture (2 Corinthians 8:9)  ever say that the pastors should scam their church members to become super rich and wealthy while their poor church members become extremely poor – poorer and poorer? Capital NO, this scripture (2 Corinthians 8:9)  never mentioned anything like that! It is just a BIG scam by these prosperity gospel pastors (commercial/charlatan pastors – pastorpreneurs).

Riches and wealth come by virtues like hard work, diligence, discipline, solving people’s problems and meeting their needs through the processes of production and services but he who is hasty for riches and wealth by sowing money seed (seed faith) will surely lead to poverty : Proverbs 21:5 NKJV “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.”

It is your effort of hard work and diligence in your occupation (profession or line of work) that God will naturally reward and bless in due season – Deuteronomy 11:14 – 15 KJV “That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.  And I will send grass in thy fields for thy cattle, that thou mayest eat and be full.”
