|How prosperity gospel pastors twist Bible to make money from people – Ecclesiastes 10:19 (part 2)
Ecclesiastes 10:19 “A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things”
Another name for the prosperity gospel is money gospel. It is the gospel of “money answers all things.” It is the commercialization of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ for money making. It is a false gospel for the sole financial and material benefits of the pastors/preachers and their family members. It is the false gospel of compensation (reward) for health and wealth or ”claim it” for sowing seed faith/money seed that provokes God in receiving His blessings to the sowers!!! This is pure prosperity gospel scam. The Lord Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry never preached prosperity gospel, even Paul the apostle never preached it.
Prosperity gospel pastors teach Christians to use God for their will ( whatever they want or desire in life) but the Bible teaches Christian believers to do the will of God.
(1) Psalms 40:7 -8 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.”
(2) Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
(2) Even the Lord Jesus Christ did the will of God : Matthew 26:42 ”He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.”
(3) Paul the apostle asked for the will of God when he encountered the Lord Jesus Christ: Acts 9:6 ”And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.”
The prosperity gospel pastors teach the Christians that they should see the Holy Spirit as the power of God for them to use for their will but the Bible teaches the Christian believers that the Holy Spirit is the third (3rd) personality of God ( third person in Trinity) to help believers do God’s will.
MONEY IS EVERYTHING IN PROSPERITY GOSPEL CHURCH
In prosperity gospel church, money answers all things. The prosperity gospel pastors always use Ecclesiastes 10:19 to support their dubious financial gain/activities by the love of money in the church. They have misinterpreted this scripture and use it to brainwash and scam their church members of their hard earned money – Ecclesiastes 10:19 “A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things”
But if you study your Bible with understanding as well as with the help of the Holy Spirit, you will discover that money cannot buy spiritual things like salvation, the day of death approved by God, divine health, the peace of mind which is the peace of God, the love of God (divine love), the joy of the Lord (the joy of salvation), mercy, grace, the gifts of the Holy Spirit: Acts 8:20 “But Peter said to him, “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!”
But money can only answer all things that are either material or financial things. You know that scripture interprets scripture, therefore the correct interpretation of Ecclesiastes 10:19 is found in Ecclesiastes 7:12 “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”
This scripture says wisdom is a defence, and money is also a defence but the difference between wisdom and money is that wisdom gives life but money cannot give life – and this wisdom that gives life is the Lord Jesus Christ who is the wisdom of God: John 10:10, 28, John 14:6 and 1Corinthians 1: 24 “…….I (Jesus Christ) have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly…. And I (Jesus Christ) give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand….. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life…..Christ (Jesus)……..the wisdom of God.” In prosperity gospel church, money will make you to be ordained very fast as a minister – deacon, deaconess, pastor, etc, in fact ordination is money, church promotion is money, giving of titles or honours, even positions to the church members is money – MONEY IS EVERYTHING IN PROSPERITY GOSPEL CHURCH because of the enthronement of the God of mammon in the church.
More money is not translated to the spiritual growth. Prosperity of riches and wealth is not proportional to the spiritual growth. Spiritual growth is not the same with the ecclesiastical growth. Your height in the church is not equal to the spiritual growth. The height of your office or the promotion in the church does not equal to the spiritual growth.
Spiritual growth is the level of your personal walk and close (intimate ) relationship with God – the level of your love for God by living a life of righteousness and holiness. Spiritual growth is touching life with the God’s love – making people to experience the touch of God’s love practically.
That your prosperity of riches and wealth, good health; experience of miracles, signs and wonders in your life is just the goodness of God upon your life which is also for the unbelievers – it is never the evidence of your spiritual growth : Matthew 5:45 and Luke 6:35 “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust….. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.”
Your financial status is not equivalent to the level of your spiritual growth but it is just the providence or benevolence of God which is also extended for the unbelievers.
