3 GROUPS OF CHRISTIANS IN EVERY CHURCH: TWO GROUPS ARE TOO SPIRITUAL WITHOUT LOVE

(1) GROUP ONE:  Christians Without The Head And Heart Knowledge

Christians in this category don’t read and study their Bible at all!

They swallow whatever they hear from their pastors.

Any time they go to any church service, they suspend their mind and delete their brains.

They can easily be brainwashed and manipulated. They may be sincere, born again but gullible (easy to fool).

They can defend and die for their pastors/General Overseer rather than defending and dying for the truth of the word of God.

The Christians in this category love their pastors, most especially their General Overseer more than the truth of the word of God.

The Christians in this group magnify their pastors, most especially their General Overseer more than the truth of the word of God whereas God Himself magnifies His word more than His Name – Psalms 138:2 KJV “…..for thou (God) hast magnified thy word above all thy name.”

The Christians in this category know their pastors and General Overseer more than knowing God. But the word of God says we should know God by a personal walk and intimate relationship – not your pastor/General Overseer: Daniel 11:32 KJV “….the people that do know their God (not the pastor/General Overseer)….”

They idolize their pastors/General Overseer – hero worship and extend it to subservience.

Hero worship gives rise to subservience which is a willingness to obey others unthinkingly and unquestioningly; a willingness to do what other people want, or the act of considering your wishes as less important than those of other people: the condition of being less important than something else – the Lord Jesus Christ discouraged this mindset in Matthew 19:16 – 19 (KJV) and Matthew 23:8 -11 (KJV) “And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?  1 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God…….But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.  Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.  But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.”

Subservience nurtures eye service, hypocrisy and flattering remarks/expressions.

How to know them (the Christians in this group)? You know them by this: they always say “My pastor says” instead of “the word of God says”. They are of this nature/character because they neither read nor study their Bible to gain understanding and revelation knowledge unlike the Berean Christians who always read and studied their Bible to find out whether what the Apostle Paul told them was true or not – Acts 17:11 KJV  “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

These particular Christians are miracles, signs and wonders seekers – and biblically they belong to a wicked and adulterous generation that seeks after a sign – Matthew 12:39 KJV and Matthew 16:4  KJV  “But he (Jesus Christ) answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign…..A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign…”

They believe in the prosperity gospel and follow the doctrine of the prosperity gospel that says “bring your money to receive God’s blessings”

They are zombie Christians.

Some of them are too spiritual without the practical expression of God’s love for their neighbors.

Some of them are sinning believers.

They are not seeking after the righteousness and holiness of God in order to have a person walk and intimate relationship with God.

In the prosperity gospel churches, the revelation knowledge shows and reveals that majority of Christians in Nigeria/Africa belong to this group of Christians without the head and heart knowledge!

(2) GROUP 2: Christians With The Head Knowledge

The Christians in this category read their Bible with the Head Knowledge.

They are like the Jews who know about God in the Old Testament, but this knowledge of God is only in their heads – it (the knowledge of God) is never in their hearts!

In their souls, they even have passion for Him (God), but it is from their minds of the soul. It is never rooted and made its way to the communion of their hearts/spirit. The communion/fellowship is one of the senses of the spirit that we use to worship God in spirit and in truth – John 4:23-24 KJV “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

We are expected to love God first with our hearts ( not with our minds) and then  allow it to flow down from our hearts to our minds;  our mind is one of the senses of our soul first while  our heart in this context is our spirit – Mark 12:30, 33 KJV “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

The foundation of loving God is in the heart (spirit) while the understanding of it is in the mind (soul) – Matthew 22:37  KJV “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”  All it will take to love God starts from the heart. Mind (soul) is for understanding needed to love God while the heart (spirit) is what make us to see God as love (God is love) – this love is rooted in the heart: Hebrews 8:10 KJV “….., saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.” Once again, mind (soul) in this scripture is for understanding while the heart (spirit) is to worship God in spirit and in truth by love for God is love – 1 John 4:8 KJV “…for God is love.” Heart is a resource to love God.

These Christians in this category are exactly like the Jews, they lack “heart knowledge” because they do not trust in the righteousness and holiness of God, but in their own righteousness. The head knowledge can never serve God in spirit and in truth.

The Christians in this group are exactly like the Pharisees and Sadducees of Jesus’ time. Despite knowing the Old Testament inside and out, the Jewish leaders were, in the words of Jesus, “whitewashed tombs.” Their heart was from God: Matthew 15:8 KJV “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.”

The description of Matthew 23 can be used to describe the people with the head knowledge. The Lord Jesus Christ used  the Scribes and Pharisees of head knowledge for studying the Law without applying it to positively affect their lives from their hearts.

The Christians in this category of the head knowledge lack the rhema of the spoken word of God. The rhema of the spoken word of God is of the Spirit that gives life. The word of God says the letters kill but the rhema of the spoken word of God is Spirit-filled and this word gives life – 2 Corinthians 3:6  KJV ,”Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”

The word of God is not for the head knowledge but for the heart knowledge as the food of the heart/spirit is the word of God – John 6:63 KJV “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”

The head knowledge is of the emotion in the soul like emotional intelligence. Emotion or feeling is one of the senses of the soul.

The head knowledge works with the mind and brain – the mind is the thinking faculty of the soul but God does not deal with us by the head knowledge. As God is a spirit, He relates with us by the heart knowledge because He (God) does not think the way we human beings think – the thought has to do with the mind (soul) and brain: Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV  “For my thoughts (God’s thoughts)  are not your thoughts ( human thoughts), neither are your ways my ways (God’s ways), saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts”

The head knowledge is of motivational talk which has to do with the mind (soul) and brain. The thoughts and the ways of the head knowledge can lead to disaster/death/unfruitfulness – Proverbs 14:12 KJV “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

The head knowledge is of carnal mind – 1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

The Christians in this group read and study their Bible with the head knowledge – and they have the capacity to twist and manipulate the scriptures.

The prosperity gospel pastors are in this group.

Majority of the Christians including the pastors with the head knowledge are too spiritual without the practical expression of God’s love for their neighbors. They are not practicing the true Christianity which is a common feature of the practice of Christianity in Nigeria/Africa.

Majority of the Christians with the head knowledge are only interested in what they can get from God – they are serving God with the head knowledge because of the blessings they want from God. They are not serving God because He is God.

The Christians in this group of the head knowledge always follow any man, woman ministry, doctrine, church denomination, etc by the head knowledge. They are like children tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine: Ephesians 4:14 KJV “…..children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive…

However, the Christians in this group have the grace of God available to them to change and transform from the head knowledge to the heart knowledge.

(3) GROUP 3: Christians With The Heart Knowledge

The Christians in this group are very few – they are less than five percent (5%).

They trust God with all their hearts – and they never rely or depend on their own understanding (mind of the soul) – Proverbs 3:5 KJV “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

The Lord is the portion of the Christians with the heart knowledge because you  cannot use your mind to trust God but your heart as where your treasure is, there will your heart (not mind of the soul) be also – Psalms 142:5  KJV and Matthew 6:21 KJV  “I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living….For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

The Christians with the heart knowledge know that the issues of life are from the heart (not from the mind of the soul) – Proverbs 4:23  KJV “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

The Christians in this group of the heart knowledge have a deep and sound understanding that God always look at the heart (not the mind of the soul) of a man – 1 Samuel 16:7 KJV “But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.”

The Christian believers in this group don’t twist and manipulate the scriptures.

They search the scriptures for the revelation knowledge, understanding ; they are like Berean Christians; and they always rightly divide the word of truth of God – John 5:39 KJV,  Acts 17:11  KJV,  and 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV “Search the scriptures…These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so…Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

The Christians including the pastors with the heart knowledge balance the spiritual with the practical expression of God’s love for people by relationship. They are practicing the true Christianity uncommon to the practice of Christianity in Nigeria/Africa today.

The Christians with the heart knowledge grow and develop their individual personal walk and intimate relationship with God. They serve and worship God in spirit and in truth.

The desire of the Christians with the heart knowledge is they want to know more of God everyday – Philippians 3:10 KJV “That I may know him (Jesus Christ), and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.”

The Christians in this group of the heart knowledge die daily to the flesh in Christ Jesus – 1 Corinthians 15:31 KJV “…in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.”

The Christians in this group of the heart knowledge don’t follow any man, woman, ministry, doctrine, church denomination, but only follow the word of God in spirit and in truth.

God is highly interested in our heart by the heart knowledge – He desires us to be the Christians with the heart knowledge – Ezekiel 36:26 KJV “A new heart also will I (God) give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.”
